Reta Mays, who worked at the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Clarksburg, West Virginia was charged with the deaths of seven patients by injecting them with insulin. Mays was also charged with one count of assault with intent to murder. Wesley R. Walls, the chief of public affairs for the Clarksburg VA medical center, told Newsweek in an email he is “glad the Department of Justice stepped in to push this investigation across the finish line and hopeful our court system will deliver the justice Clarksburg-area Veterans and families deserve....

Brian Vickers had no choice when he visited doctors December 13th. Vickers was in the hospital, his body rejecting an artificial patch surgically attached in 2010 to repair a hole in his heart. Doctors gave him no options other than to have the patch replaced. “When they figured out what was wrong, that the patch in my heart needed to be replaced, they were shaving my chest while they were telling me we were going to go fix it,” Vickers said Tuesday....

Speaking to the media for the first time since tearing the patella tendon and undergoing surgery earlier this week, Cruz said Friday that doctors have told him that his rehabilitation will last 4-to-8 months. The 27-year-old says his spirits are high. Cruz said teammates Marcus Harris and Zack Bowman have had surgery on their patella tendons and they told him they came back “better than ever.” Cruz says he has made a videotape for the Giants (3-3) to see on Saturday night in Dallas, a day before their must-win NFC East game with the Cowboys (5-1)....

Adidas celebrated by releasing a short hip-hop music video starring Paul Pogba and the artist Stormzy. The video features the two in Adidas t-shirts – Stormzy is very clearly wearing a Manchester United away shirt with Pogba written on the back and Pogba is dressed in a shirt similar to the away kit colours....
