But AEW execs didn’t buy the explanation and they decided to respond at AEW Dynamite. As Nyla Rose powerbombed AEW referee Rick Knox through the table, the camera panned to a concerned Baker in the audience. AEW commentator Excalibur even echoed the NXT commentators by saying that she was Adam Cole’s girlfriend.
It was a clear shot at WWE for their accidental on-screen moment. While AEW has been insisting that this is not a war, it’s quite clear that they are going to take shots whenever they can.
In an interview with Fightful, Triple H was quite clear that the whole Britt Baker on-camera moment was a total accident. He said,
Whatever the case may be, it looks like the firing of shots is going to continue in the weeks to come.
